A picture speaks a thousand words

Today has been a full-on day of work for everyone here. I spent a solid 6 hours in the office huddled over a computer screen clutching a hot water bottle to my lap, while Stuart, Zach and Holly sweated in the sunshine outside cutting down trees, finishing burning bramble clippings, laying out vegetable plot areas and finishing the first flight of tyre-stairs up the terraces. The terraces looked amazing in the late afternoon sun when I finally emerged from the office - it's exciting to think how good they will look when the grass finally comes through and when we manage to get vegetables planted!

We are going out for a celebratory 'end of the bramble clearing' meal with Holly and Zach this evening (or at least it will be the end of their bramble clearing - I fear there will be plenty more bramble action for Stuart and me to face!), so tonight's blog post is mainly photographic, with more words promised for tomorrow.

Tyres, vegetable plots, bonfires, cut trees.

Tyre terrace steps (flight no. 1) completed.

Reggie keeps an eye on the final step.

Brown nosed dog..

Beautiful clear terraces.

Vegetable plots marked out.

This is now the rather more attractive view from our spare bedroom.

The weekend weather forecast promises us dry weather tomorrow, but rain on Sunday, so it'll be a case of trying to get out and do some work tomorrow (after the obligatory supermarket shopping and doggy walking) and saving up our rainy-day tasks for Sunday.

Happy weekend everyone!
